Origin: Chuck Nystrom of Ocheda Orchard in Worthington, MN “found” the B-51 apple in the 1990s. One of the B-51’s parents is known to be the Honeycrisp, while the other is still unknown due to open pollination.
Appearance: A medium-small red apple with faint little white speckles
Flavor: Very sweet, aromatic and crisp
Texture: Extra crisp
Season: Late September–early October
Use: Some of our family and friends' favorite, this is a luxury eating apple; it can be a delicious treat, great for snacking. It also makes an amazing apple crisp!
