Name: First Kiss® (MN55) and also known as Rave® outside of Minnesota

Origin: The First Kiss was developed by the University of Minnesota.

Appearance: Bright lipstick red 

Flavor: Semi-tart and slightly sweet 

Texture: Crisp

Season: Mid-late August–early September

Storage: 3–4 months refrigerated 

Use: Fresh eating; it’s a premier eating apple. Also great for salads!
